Monkhouse Intersport Nets Retail Role! |
 |
Monkhouse Intersport has leaped into the netball scene after being selected as the Official Retailer of The Co-operative World Netball Series and Official Partner of the event. With a head office in Manchester, the 71 year old family run business is known in the industry for excellent service and for supplying both functional sports goods and school-wear from its 20 sites across the North of England. Monkhouse Intersport’s reputation has allowed the company to develop a niche for retailing at major national and international events, such as the recent Aegon International Tennis at Queens, the Hi-Tec World Squash Championships, the British Open Squash, National Badminton and Squash Championships and European Hockey Championships. International events are an important framework for Monkhouse Intersport, so the fast-approaching Co-operative World Netball Series, with six of the world’s highest ranked netball teams competing in their hometown was an opportunity not to be missed. Over the course of the three day event, Monkhouse Intersport will have a strong presence at the M.E.N Arena, selling sports goods, targeting the female sports market whilst at the same time, raising awareness of their online facilities. “We’re excited about the opportunity to work with such a huge event. We have an interest in netball as it is a speciality sport which reaches our female audience. “We are constantly looking at ways to improve our offering and netball has become a key part of that. Netball is now a core sport for Monkhouse Intersport and we plan to raise awareness of this through our website,” said Peter Monkhouse, Managing Director of Monkhouse Intersport. England, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Samoa and Malawi will compete on court to a new set of netball rules at the M.E.N Arena in Manchester this October. The new rules include shooting from outside the circle, power play and coaching from the side lines to test the ability of the teams and provide a fast and ferocious spectacle for the audience. |
